The other day when I was having a good old sort out in my son Gareth's old bedroom, I came across an old sweet tin. I had a look inside and found what appeared to be a great hank of hair. Then it all came back. When Michael and my son Gareth were teenagers they both had long hair. One day they decided to cut it. Most people would have made a visit to the hairdresser/barber - not those two - they both just hacked off their 'pony tails' - I have Gareth's here in the tin. Of course the following week they both went the whole 'over the top' hog and shaved their heads - it was a scary sight - as they both had quite prominent eyebrows! I called them both 'Uncle Fester' ( from the Adams Family) Luckily it grew back again pretty quickly. I know that Gareth misses him terribly, and has told me on many occasions that there are so many things he has done and places that he has travelled to over the past few months that he would have longed to have shared with Michael. He says he still longs to call or Skype him from wherever he is in the world just to have one of their old long chats, where they always picked up where they had left off and spoke of so many interesting things. In our hearts Michael will remain forever young and missed so very much by so many people.
